MEET NINA
NINA MIDTGAARD • PERFORMANCE PHYSIOLOGIST •
I work privately with leaders who are under sustained pressure and no longer feel fully recovered — even when they rest.
I've spent three decades studying the body from every angle - Western exercise physiology, Eastern mindbody philosophies. Traumatic Stress. Holistic nutrition- studying a variety of nutritional philosophies.
I hold a master's degree in Exercise Physiology. And, I lived and studied yogic philosophy and postures at an ashram in India. For the past 30 years, I've worked as a personal trainer, holistic nutritionist and mind-body practitioner specializing in working with ultra busy leaders.
I didn't build my practice from one discipline. I built it from all of them, because no single lens is enough - especially for the multitude of demands placed on my high achieving clients... many of whom are so busy they literally aren't able to schedule in time for their own health.
THE ENERGY ADVISORY
Short briefings on how the body produces energy, why it breaks down under pressure, and how leaders can restore long-lasting energy without changing their entire life.

Leadership Capacity Beyond 50.
After 50, many leaders notice a shift. Energy feels less predictable. Recovery takes longer. Performance may still be strong, but it costs more. This is not simply ageing. It is a biological transition. For women, hormonal changes affect sleep, metabolism, nervous system regulation, and energy production. For men, gradual shifts in testosterone, cortisol balance, and insulin sensitivity alter recovery and resilience. In both cases, the body becomes less forgiving under pressure. The mistake...

Short-Burst Energy vs. Energy That Lasts.
The human body has two energy systems. Most leaders are running on the wrong one. Short-burst energy is driven by stress hormones. It is powerful, immediate, and effective in emergencies. It sharpens focus and enables decisive action. It was never designed to carry years of sustained pressure. When it becomes your default — when the body has no other system to draw from — energy becomes volatile. Recovery stays incomplete. Performance costs more effort for the same output. There is another...
1/1/26
The Leader's Body Under Sustained Pressure.
Leadership today is defined by duration, not intensity. Pressure is no longer episodic. It is continuous. And under continuous pressure, the body adapts in ways that eventually work against you. Stress hormones rise. Recovery windows shrink. Energy production becomes less efficient. At first, this adaptation keeps you going. Over time, the cost increases. Focus takes longer to come online. Productive hours shorten. Rest stops feeling like recovery. Most leaders respond the way they always...
